"I would challenge every student of landscape architecture to spend a life passionately studying, traveling, learning, and working. EDAW Summer Student Program (SSP)
Each summer, as part of its Summer Student Program SSP, EDAW selects approximately fifteen students from around the world to participate in a "real-world" project with a "real" client. The year 2000 marked the 20th anniversary of this program; to celebrate, the program embarked on its own expedition--the SSP2000 Expedition-- with a focus on participating in the nation's commemoration of the Lewis & Clark Expedition during the years 2003 - 2006. This year's client was the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) and its location was the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) on the Lower Columbia Riverö¦.
